Hemen & Co Sitar

back

A full decoration kharaj-pancham sitar made presumably in the late 1970ies by Hemen himself. Made from toon-wood with original deer-horn bridges and thirteen taraf strings. Completely restored on my workbench during 2024.

A worn and slightly scratched upper tumba. A crack has been repaired by the previous owner.
I have noticed these two spots on all Hemen sitars i came across. It seems he used over-long screws in the neckjoint and simply filed down the piercing screw-tips.
The upper tumba was repaired by the previous owner.
