The instruments from the workshops of Naskar, Radha Krishna Sharma, Makan Lal and a few other Kolkata makers have always been overshadowed by the more popular names of Hiren Roy, Kanai Lal and Hemen. Nevertheless in most instances they could deliver the same or similar quality of instruments. This Naskar & Co sitar comes from the 1980ies and has been completely repolished by its previous owner. Therefore it appears somewhat younger. It is a very solid and slightly heavy (in terms of weight) sitar. Besides a few scratches on the tabli it is in excellent condition. Toon-wood, original horn bridges, original upper tumba, 13 taraf strings, full decoration, kharaj-string hook on last fret.
