Sitar player and Dhrupad singer | Son of Azam Khan | Teacher of Yusuf Ali Khan

Little is known about the exponents of the Kalpi dhrupad and sitar gharana. Like his father Azam Khan he was court musician for the ruler of Khajurgaon, a small principality in the district of Rai Bareli about 80 km south of Lucknow and composed many dhrupads and sitar gats.
