Idris Khan served at Bhatkhande Music College (Almora branch) and performed regularly in Assam, Lucknow, Jabalpur and a few other places. Together with his cousin Irfan Khan, Idris was instrumental in building the Lucknow-Shahjahanpur Gharana Archive, as both recorded and documented their fathers concerts and broadcasts on tape since the early 1980s. These recordings form the foundation of our archive.
