Since his father Keramatullah Khan expired when he was barely nine, Ishtiaque contiued his taleem under his father´s senior disciples Kalidas Pal and Shafiqullah Khan. Besides his regular broadcasts for AIR Delhi Ishtiaque was a frequent performer at music conferences all over India. He was sent to perform in China and Afghanisthan by the Indian government and trained his family members.
